Ashtanga Yoga emphasizes vinyasa (meaning synchronized movement with breathing), a method of synchronizing progressive series of postures with a specific breathing. This process produces intense internal heat and profuse sweating, sweat that detoxifies muscles and internal organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body and a calm mind.

Mariela is an authorized master of Ashtanga by Guruji and Sharath and is the first Central American, and third Latin American to receive a Grade 2 KPJAYI title from Mysore, India.
